May 1st began as a workers’ movement. In 1886, workers in Chicago demanded an 8-hour workday, leading to the Haymarket Affair - a turning point in labour history. What started locally soon became a global symbol of rights, unity, and progress.
Today, Labour Day reminds us of the people behind every industry and everything that moves forward. At Vista Maritime, we recognize that every operation is driven by people - and progress always will be.
